I got to do another show for Don Guanella last week while in Philly for Thanksgiving break! The Don Guanella Village is a large campus located in Springfield, PA that is home to the Don Guanella School for teenage boys with developmental delays, and the Cardinal Krol Center for developmentally disabled adult men.
My relationship with Don Guanella began at age 14 when a self-structured service project at St. Joe’s Prep high school got me linked up with Bob Neely, the activities director there. I’ve performed there every year for 13 years, and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon– the guys are so appreciative, and a ton of fun. Bob remains a close friend and an inspiration to me today.
My experience doing pro bono shows that early in my career has had a profound effect on me today and my current career goals. Stay tuned for more info coming soon on my latest project: Win-Win Entertainment.
*Special shout-out to Jack (pictured center in orange) whose harmonica playing really took my show to the next level – HAHA! See you again soon, fellas 🙂
