Steve Martin and The Steep Canyon Rangers is a group unknown to most people. However, in the bluegrass music community they are a pretty big deal. They are performing in a Las Vegas show to support their recent album Rare Bird Alert. Their Las Vegas show is seemingly unnecessary as their album just received a Grammy nomination for “Best Bluegrass Album.” A Las Vegas show is just one thing on the group’s long list of accomplishments. One highlight includes winning the 2011 International Bluegrass Association Awards. They have been all across the United States on either tour or appearing at festivals like Bonnaroo, New Orleans’ Jazzfest and the Newport Folk Festival. The words Las Vegas show may not come to mind when thinking of bluegrass, but the venue and the group will do nothing but amaze audiences.
